Not Just Tulle: Lightweight Materials for Perfect Summer Curtains
Summer is the time to add lightness and freshness to the interior. This can be done with print, color, but today we will talk about fabrics. What curtains will look best in the interior during the scorching sun and heat?

Silk

Silk curtains are that element of decor that instantly fills the space with aristocracy and elegance. Silk is a natural material; it is immediately visible at the cost of the kit. Nevertheless, silk also has synthetic analogues, which look no worse, but at a much lower cost. The advantage of silk curtains for the summer is their lightness - if you don’t like how a single tulle looks on the window, but you want to pick up cool curtains that will not look heavy in the summer sun, silk is a good option. This thin almost weightless canvas, incredibly pleasant tactile, and plus it is very durable. However, if you have pets, in particular cats, it is worth weighing the pros and cons, think about whether you can ensure the safety of curtains, and protect them from cat's claws. By the way, another advantage of silk curtains is that they look perfect with a small amount of light. The unobtrusive shine in dim lights becomes even nobler, so if your windows are to the north, take a look at the curtains made of silk for the summer.

To be objective, it is worth noting the shortcomings of these curtains - but they also exist. Since the material is natural, it wrinkles heavily and burns out in the sun, so windows to the south are not the best place for such curtains. Silk can be washed only by hand - and if this is not a problem with a light blouse or scarf, then curtains to manually overwrite the whole thing.

Atlas

Smooth glossy material that resembles glass with its perfectly flat surface. Satin curtains look spectacular and bright. They do not fit into any interior, but if they fit into, they will immediately made it elegant and festive. Atlas is a material with an extensive biography, its history goes back several hundred years, and it is not the cheapest material. You can choose a budgetary analogue if in the composition of the material, in addition to the atlas, there is an admixture of another material - it is often mixed with natural cotton and viscose or synthetic fibers. In the second case, the cost will be budget. Satin curtains are denser than silk, but due to their glossy texture in summer, the interior looks easy too and does not burden the interior. Atlas is a very durable material; moreover, it does not cause allergies. Once you spend on such a set of curtains, you will use it for many years. This advantage may become a disadvantage for those who like to frequently update the interior - you will not have a reason to buy new curtains for a long time. Of the minuses, it’s possible to note a specific appearance, which will not be to everyone’s liking, and over time, the fabric may sag a little if there are synthetic fibers in addition to the atlas.

Polyester

This is the most popular synthetic fabric for curtains today. Polyester, like the atlas is incredibly durable material, it is also used for toys, as well as for insulation in winter clothes. Curtains made of pure polyester are difficult to find. Generally, polyester is mixed with a set of other fibers - synthetic and natural. Despite it is not an allergenic material, it is best to hang polyester curtains in the living room and in the kitchen, but in the bedroom and the nursery, it is not advisable. Polyester does not fade in the sun; it is a surprisingly strong and easy-to-care material that does not need to be ironed. Of the minuses - like all synthetic canvases - is the accumulation of static electricity and low air permeability. However, if you think of windows these minutes may well pass for a plus - the draft will be felt less.
